The custom frame bag class was a weekend-long class where students of all sewing levels could sign up to create a frame bag specifically to fit in the frame of their bike. Each bike has different geometry, size and shape to the center triangle of the frame, so it can be hard to find a bag that fits just right unless it is custom made. Students create their patterns, choose fabrics and colors and sew all the parts of the bag leaving with a completed bag at the end of the weekend.

I took over the class from a previous teacher and rebuilt the curriculum to be more clear and concise including a more fleshed out instruction manual with step-by-step instructions and illustrations to give students a clearer guide. My coworker and friend was the teacher assistant for most of the classes making each step of the process run smoothly.

Through teaching this class I learned how to best communicate concepts and steps in the process of sewing a custom bag as well as improve my interpersonal skills and perfect the actual construction of a frame bag.
