The Caldera Collection was the fall special collection and was a collaboration with Blue Lug in Tokyo Japan, one of Swift’s oldest industry buds and the Swift distributor in Japan. I really wanted this collection to feel like fall and feel as much like Swift as Blue Lug. The waxed canvas lended a rich, earthy, heritage feel while harkening back to waxed canvas custom bag runs we had done for Blue Lug in the past. Blue Lug hired Okataoka as the artist for his whimsical style.
The goals for this collection:
choose fabrics and colors with a classic, heritage look and feel
choose an artist whose aesthetic matches the vibe of the collection
co-branded branding across the collection
2-3 bags, 3-5 resale items including multiple Blue Lug products
Initial brainstorm ideas:
lean into the PNW fall aesthetic
waxed canvas
logo with callouts/imagery from the PNW and Japan/Tokyo
lifestyle product shoots in both Seattle and Japan by the respective brands
